WHAT WE DO

ABOUT DCMS

DCMS Uniformed Youth Fund

We are working with DCMS and Groundwork UK to administer the Uniformed Youth Fund 2022-25. This fund allows us to support the work of 8 uniformed youth organisations: Scouts, Girlguiding, Jewish Lads’ and Girls’ Brigade, Girls’ Brigade, Boys’ Brigade, Marine Society & Sea Cadets, Volunteer Police Cadets and St John Ambulance.

These organisations are aiming to create more than 20,000 new places in uniformed youth groups for 10-18-year-olds (especially focusing on projects supporting age groups 13-18) across the country by April 2025.

The uniformed youth organisations are prioritising using the funds to tackle waiting lists in IMD 1-5 Upper Tier Local Authority Areas in England or areas eligible for the Youth Investment Fund, before reducing waiting lists in other parts of England.

The fund aims to improve the wellbeing of young people and help them to develop skills for life and work by expanding the reach, number and range of regular activities for young people that drive these outcomes. It will also support Uniformed Youth Organisations to build their internal capacity to scale up sustainably.

We are delivering a series of learning and practice-sharing events for funded organisations over the course of the grant.
