WHAT WE DO

HERITAGE YOUTH PARTNERSHIP

Heritage Youth Partnership

After a Historic England-funded pilot project and scoping phase, resulting in the ‘Youth and Heritage feasibility study’, Youth United Foundation has secured funds for the Heritage Youth Partnership to test recommendations from the study.

This project is funded by Historic England from January-December 2024. It seeks to:

  • Develop long term partnerships between the heritage and youth sectors, at national and local levels;
  • Support the development and delivery of youth-led, heritage-themed exploration and social action projects in uniformed youth groups.

As part of the Heritage Youth Partnership, Youth United Foundation will:

  • Establish youth reference group/s to shape activity and verify youth-influenced approach throughout;
  • Provide training and a versatile framework for developing and delivering heritage-themed activities;
  • Offer funding to the small number of social action projects;
  • Hold good practice workshops and national partnership-building events;
  • Develop and share accessible resources and case studies online;
  • Evaluate all elements of the project, including impact on young people's wellbeing;
  • Explore future funding opportunities to scale up this approach.
